Clamp Meter – Quick Reference Guide

Clamp Meter – Quick Reference Guide

2025-08-01

AC Current Measurement
① Rotate the switch to ACA 1000 A range.
② Keep the switch in its relaxed position (do not press).
③ Squeeze the trigger to open the jaw and clamp ONLY one conductor. Clamping two or more conductors will give invalid readings.
④ Read the display. If the value is below 200 A, switch to ACA 200 A for higher accuracy. If it is dark, press HOLD, move the meter to a brighter spot, then read the value.

AC / DC Voltage Measurement
① For DC voltage, set the switch to ACA 200 A; for AC voltage, set it to ACV 750 V.
② Keep the switch relaxed.
③ Connect the red lead to V/Ω and the black lead to COM.
④ Place the probes in parallel across the circuit under test.

Resistance Measurement
① Select an appropriate resistance range.
② Keep the switch relaxed.
③ Red lead to V/Ω, black lead to COM.
④ Connect the probes across the resistor. For in-circuit measurements, power OFF the circuit and discharge any capacitors first.

Continuity Test
① Switch to 200 Ω range.
② Red lead to V/Ω, black lead to COM.
③ If the resistance between the probes is < (50 ± 25) Ω, the built-in buzzer will sound, indicating a closed circuit.

High Resistance (Insulation) Measurement
① Rotate the switch to “EXTERNAL UNIT” 20 MΩ or 2000 MΩ.
② Initial unstable readings are normal.
③ Insert the three accessory plugs into their respective jacks on the clamp meter.
④ Set both the clamp meter and accessory range to 2000 MΩ.
⑤ Connect the test leads to the accessory input terminals.
⑥ Turn on the accessory power, press PUSH; the indicator should light and the display will show the resistance. For values below 19 MΩ, use the 20 MΩ range for better accuracy.,
